Want to play Soccer at College?
Then you need to be at SYA Soccer’s College Seminar.

Cost: Free
Open to parents and players of U15 and above boys and girls travel teams or anybody interested in learning more about the College process. (please bring Notepad and pen, to take notes).
The following topics will be covered at the college seminar:
- Marketing yourself
- College recruiting rules and regulations
- Differences in NCAA Division 1, 2, and 3 programs
- What to look for in a collegiate Soccer program
- School grades
- Time lines
- College clearing house and more.
The lecture will run for around one hour and thirty minutes, and will conclude with a questions and answers session from players and parents. The presenter of the seminar will be Paul Ellis; president of Soccer Academy Inc. Paul has been head coach at Lake Braddock High School and served as an assistant coach at George Mason University. He has worked as a Region 1 staff coach and was the head coach to Region 1 teams playing in China, Germany, France, Denmark and Britain. He was also appointed to the Washington Metropolitan Area Joint Coaching Program staff and conducts both USSF and NSCAA coaching courses. Paul was a Scout for the Gold winning U.S Women’s National team at 2004 Olympic Games. Paul is the brother of Jillian Ellis, Head Coach of the NCAA division 1 UCLA Bruins women’s soccer team, assistant coach of the 2008 Gold winning US Women’s national team and current head coach of the U20 women’s national team.
