SYA SOCCER AND FC VIRGINIA JOIN FORCES FOR ELITE PLAY

Southwestern Youth Association (SYA) and Football Club of Virginia (FC Virginia) and have reached an agreement that will see the two northern Virginia area youth soccer clubs join forces to offer one of the most comprehensive youth development programs in the United States.

The agreement brings together the exceptional youth recreational system and young academy programs of SYA, with the elite level player development and national competition structure of FC Virginia. Together, the organizations will offer every member player a level of training appropriate to their needs, with no limit to how high of a level the player can reach.

“We are excited about joining forces with FC Virginia,” said Jeff Stein, Commissioner of SYA soccer “This collaboration will offer our players the opportunity to work with an elite coaching staff and compete at the highest level with the best clubs from around the country”.

Under the agreement, FC Virginia teams will join SYA for league play sanctioned by US Youth Soccer Association, but maintain their US Club Soccer affiliation for competition within the Elite Clubs National League for girls (ECNL).

The first order of business for the combined organization will be holding tryouts for the 2010/2011 ECNL and local league seasons.

Reminder Regarding Pets at Soccer Fields

There are three Fairfax County ordinances prohibiting pets (i.e., dogs) from all Fairfax County school grounds. There are health notices on all FCPS school grounds asking pet owners to NOT bring their pets on school grounds. Please do not bring your pets to ANY school fields.  This means, there should be no pets at any U5-U7 games.

FAIRFAX COUNTY/REGIONAL PARK AUTHORITY PARKS (Kincheloe, Popes Head, EC Lawrence, Braddock Park) pet policy  This is also the policy at our Fields of Dreams Complex:  It must be on a leash, must remain AT LEAST 15 feet from the field at all times (NEVER to be on the field), controlled by someone that can restrict its movements (ie, not a child), and any waste must be cleaned up and taken with you.

We prefer that you would NOT bring your pet to any soccer fields. We have had many complaints from concerned parents. While most people are responsible, even the best of dogs will had a bad day.

See you out on the pitch!!
