SYA Coaches Game
SYA Travel Coaches Meet in Match ECL Park, Thursday, February 28, 2008
Thursday, February 28 was a frigid night at ECL, when a large contingent of SYA travel coaches and friends gathered under the lights to play soccer. A crowd of SYA travel players and their parents assembled in the stands to watch, parents huddling under blankets and children bearing signs and doing cheers and generally supporting their coaches.
Congratulations to the Fall 2007 Character Counts award winners!

Congratulations to the WAGS Sportsmanship Award Winners!
WAGS has named their Fall 2007 Sportsmanship winners. Teams in each division in each age group voted for the team which displayed the best sportsmanship during the fall season and we are extremely proud of the four SYA teams who won the award:
U12 Swifts
U13 Arsenal
U15 Arsenal
U19 Select
30% of the SYA’s teams playing in WAGS won this award, which is exceptional. Congratulations to the players and coaches on these four teams. In addition to other ’goodies’, they will receive tickets to a DC United game and will be honored on the field at half-time during a match in 2008!
Statistically, 56 clubs have teams playing in WAGS, and only one other had four teams win awards (Loudoun). Two clubs had three winners, and eight clubs had two teams recognized.
Congratulations to our SYA girls and their coaches and to all of the winners in this first presentation of the WAGS Sportsmanship Awards!
